I have sewn many custom christening gowns.I can copy a photo of a family heirloom.They can be very feminine or with a minimal amount of lace for use by either sex.They can be sewn smock and wear for you to smock or they can be done without an area to smock.As I get some photos,I will add them here.In the meantime,you can describe what you want and I will sew it.There are commercial patterns available to get ideas from as well as Sew Beautiful and Creative Needle magazines.The Australian Smocking Magazine has had some lovely christening gowns as well.I have all the issues of Sew Beautiful and Creative Needle since the magazines began back in the 80's.I have the Australian Smocking Magazines from issue 26.Christening gowns may be stitched in many different fabrics from imperial batiste to swiss batiste.The fabric and amount of lace and detail work is what determines the price.I can add the baby's name and date to the gown,if desired.
